Online Learnings

So, I was just thinking about the staff meeting this morning.. because I do that.. think that is :P lol And that statistic about online learning in the future.

There's already examples of that in literature. And the one that came to my mind all of a sudden, was Anne McCaffrey's "Pegasus in Space". Sequel to "To Ride Pegasus" and "Pegasus in Flight"... actually.. it's in "Pegasus in Flight" as well... The kids in those two books do not actually attend physical classes, they access "teacher" from computers at home. They do their work, and if so inclined can work ahead. They can focus on specific areas of interest to them... it's a brilliant idea in my opinion. It is slightly different from Credenda though, in that the teacher is not an actual person, but an AI, or computer program (they don't get into great detail about it in the book, obviously, as it is just a tool for the story, more than a focus FOR the story) so it is easier for said student to work ahead should they choose to.

I kinda wish now that she HAD gone into more detail about it, lol. Oh well.
